Four Features of the 2021 Skoda Superb You Won’t Want to Miss

Superb Success

The Superb is a Skoda classic – Skoda has had over a decade to get it right, and it’s improving more and more with each new model. Australia missed out on the Superb for almost twelve months prior to the 2021 model landing on our shores, and it’s had a significant facelift. Sleek exterior meets plush interior, and it handles like a dream. But what makes the new Superb so great?

Both the Sedan and Wagon models have seen a bit of an upgrade in 2021. Sliding into the Skoda cockpit will see improved technology and equipment, an upgraded exterior, and more bang for your buck.

You’ve got different variants to choose from, including the Superb Sportline and Superb Scout, and they’re customisable with additional features and packs. Both the Superb Sportline and Super Scout operate in all wheel drive.

And here’s the thing – the new Skoda Superb is considerably lighter. A whopping 75kg, in fact.

If you’re after a luxury car without the high price tag, keep reading.

Superb Safety

Skoda Superb

We’ve really upped the safety in our new Skoda models, and the Superb is no exception.

The Standard Superb has a five-star ANCAP safety rating and comes with a bunch of all the best safety technology. You can feel safe in the Superb range with:

  • Autonomous emergency breaking
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Blind spot detection
  • Lane assist
  • Traffic jam assist
  • Emergency assist
  • Multi collision brake
  • Front, passenger seat, and curtain airbags

There’s plenty more, as well. You’ll be feeling safe and sound in the new Skoda Superb.

Superb Style

Skoda Superb

The Skoda Superb is available in a range of wagon and sedan body styles. Whether you choose the 4WD Superb Scout, Superb Sportline, or one of the wagon models, you’re guaranteed a stylish and innovative drive.

The Superb is the perfect combo of practicality and style. A drawn-out roofline and chrome radiator grille make the Superb a striking presence on the road – elegant, dynamic, and sophisticated.

No detail has been missed, and with the new Vision C Skoda design language at work, you’ll really love looking at your Skoda Superb.

Superb Tech

Standard equipment in the Superb range includes a whole host of tech. Enjoy a 9.2-inch touchscreen, sat-nav, and an eight-speaker sound system to blast your music to your heart’s content. The infotainment system, in particular, has seen a considerable upgrade, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

You’ve also got three-zone climate control and ambient lighting to really set the mood and ensure you and your passengers are comfortable.

Cavernous Cabin

One of the strongest features of the Superb is its cavernous cabin. There is a mammoth 625 litres of cargo space with all the seats in place. This can be expanded to 1760 litres if you fold the rear seats. This means that you can carry a full-sized bicycle without needing to remove the wheels. The liftback door is broad, making unloading and loading easy. Even if you have a full load of passengers, there is plenty of room for luggage, without compromising on legroom.

The Superb is actually well-known for its extreme amount of space. So if you’re 6ft and have a few 6ft friends, you’re in business.

Plenty of Power

The four-cylinder 2.0 litre petrol engine used in the Skoda Octavia, Superb is the same used in the Volkswagen Golf GTI, which assures a performance pedigree. This turbocharged unit provides 162 kW of power delivering a zero to 100 kilometres per hour rate of 7.0 seconds. Although the Superb is heavier than the Golf GTI, this engine still provides a punchy performance. This performance is achieved without compromising on fuel economy, as the model can manage 7.1 litres per 100 kilometres on a combined cycle. Additionally, the model has a 66-litre fuel tank, which means that you won’t need to keep filling up every day or two.

Lots of Gear

The specification list on the Superb is simply superb. The list of standard features just keeps on going.

So what can you expect with your standard Skoda Superb model?

Enjoy the aforementioned infotainment system with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, satellite navigation, an awesome 10.25 Virtual Cockpit with a digital instrument cluster, and Matrix LED headlights so you can always see where you’re going. You’ve also got front fog lights and cornering lights, animated rear indicators, privacy glass, and keyless entry and start.

Comfort is also a huge priority for Skoda, with a power driver’s seat with memory and leather upholstery.

The list hasn’t ended yet… you’ll also have rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and more. Honestly, you just have to check it out yourself, because there’s just way too much packed into this model for us to list here.

There is also an optional Premium Pack which adds on adaptive dampers, a 12-speaker Canton sound system, heated front and rear seats that are also ventilated, semi-autonomous parking assist, and a virtual pedal hands-free power tailgate. Phew!
